Devocean Divers was created in the Philippines in 2015.

Founded by managing owner Marcus Benders , Walter and Dorianne were honored to be a lead part of the team of Devocean Divers Malapascua (www.devoceandivers.com).

Discover Devocean Divers:
First in Malapascua and now in Playa del Carmen

Our journey began with the thresher sharks of Malapascua, Philippines, and has now extended to the bulls sharks and cenotes of Playa del Carmen, Mexico, under the dedicated leadership of Walter and Dorianne.

How It Started ?
- " It all started with a passion for better diving.After decades of diving and teaching around the world, I began to notice the same issues repeated across large-scale dive operations. The bigger the business, the more compromises were made—and it was always the divers who paid the price. If you’ve been diving long enough, you’ve probably experienced it too:
• Experienced divers forced into shorter dives when grouped with beginners.
• Students rushed through training, leaving with limited confidence or skills.
• Nervous divers struggling because they don’t receive the support they need.
• And worst of all, shortcuts in safety and training standards that become “business as usual.”

These problems are often the result of a volume-focused approach. Large operations rely on moving as many divers as possible through their programs, often at the expense of quality, safety, and personal attention.

For me, that’s simply not acceptable. That’s why we
( Dorianne and I) created Devocean Divers Mexico ( with the support of Devocean Divers Malapascua)—to provide something better.

Here, diving is about quality, safety, and creating a personalized experience for every diver.Here’s how I do it:

• Small groups or private dives—Every dive is designed around your skills, goals, and comfort level. Whether you’re a beginner, an experienced recreational diver, or looking to explore the technical or cave world, the experience is tailored to you.

• Customized diving adventures—From the crystal-clear cenotes to the vibrant reefs of Cozumel, every trip is planned to match what excites and inspires you most.

• Top-notch safety and equipment—I work only with trusted operators and maintain the highest standards of care, so you can relax and enjoy every moment underwater.

My philosophy comes from my own journey. Over the years, I’ve dedicated myself to learning from some of the best professionals in cave and technical diving.

After taking countless courses and spending thousands of hours refining my skills, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for precision, patience, and the importance of doing things right.

As a PADI Course Director, Tec Instructor Trainer, and Full Cave CCR Diver with over 9,000 dives, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to every diver I work with.
My goal is to help you not just enjoy the underwater world but to become a more confident, capable, and mindful diver.
At Devocean Divers Mexico, every dive is personal.
